You don’t need any previous Reiki experience to begin.
Thinking about learning Reiki?
Reiki Level One is where your Reiki training begins.
You don’t need any previous Reiki experience, and you don’t need to have everything worked out before you come. Some people begin because they’ve experienced Reiki themselves and want to learn more. Others are simply curious and would like to understand what Reiki is and how they can use it.
Level One gives you the foundations.
Over the weekend, you’ll learn about Reiki and its traditional foundations, while also spending plenty of time actually experiencing and practising it for yourself.
The focus is not on becoming a Reiki practitioner. It is on learning Reiki, experiencing it and becoming comfortable using it — initially for yourself, and if you choose, with family and friends.

What you'll learn in Reiki Level One
Reiki Level One combines understanding with experience.
During Reiki Level One we'll explore:
During the weekend, we'll explore what Reiki is, where it comes from and some of the traditional ideas and principles that sit behind the practice.
But Reiki isn't something I believe you can learn only by reading about it.
A significant part of the weekend is practical. You'll experience Reiki for yourself, learn how to use it and have plenty of opportunity to practise.

What your Reiki Level One weekend looks like
Saturday Morning — Building the foundations
Introductions, course expectations and the foundations of Reiki. We begin working through the theory and learning the hand positions you'll use during the practical sessions.
Saturday Afternoon — Experiencing Reiki
Reiki attunements followed by your first practical experiences using Reiki on yourself and with others. You'll be guided through the hand positions and have opportunities to notice, discuss and ask questions about what you're experiencing.

Reiki Level One is taught over two days, giving us time to learn, experience, practise and ask questions without trying to squeeze everything into a few hours.
The mornings are primarily about understanding what you're learning.
We work through the theory together, with plenty of discussion and opportunities to ask questions along the way.
The afternoons are practical.
You'll experience your Reiki attunements, practise Reiki on yourself and spend time both giving and receiving Reiki with other students. I'll guide you through the process, demonstrate hand positions and be there while you practise.
By Sunday afternoon, you'll have repeated the practical work and begun doing more for yourself, while I remain there to guide, observe and answer questions.
Sunday Morning — Building your understanding
We check in on what you noticed after Day One, revisit questions and continue building on the theory. We'll also talk about practising after the course, case studies and what happens next.
Sunday Afternoon — Building confidence through practice
More hands-on practice, this time with greater independence. You'll continue both giving and receiving Reiki while I supervise, support and answer questions before we bring the weekend to a close.

You won't leave Reiki Level One having only read about Reiki — you'll have spent time actually using it.

After your Reiki Level One weekend
The weekend is the beginning of your Reiki practice — not the end of your learning.
After your course, you'll be encouraged to continue using Reiki regularly so that what you've learnt starts to become familiar and comfortable.
Your course workbook includes simple case study sheets to help you record your experiences using Reiki on yourself and with other people. These aren't about producing perfect results or proving that you've “got it right”. They're a practical way of helping you notice what happened, reflect on the experience and build confidence through practice.
Practise Reiki on yourself
Regular self-practice gives you time to become familiar with Reiki without having to concentrate on remembering every step.
Practise with family and friends
When you're ready, you can begin using Reiki with people you know, giving you experience working with different people and noticing that every Reiki experience can be different.
Record your experiences
Your case study sheets give you a simple structure for recording what you noticed before,
during and after a Reiki session.
