Kinesiology
Helping restore balance when something feels "off".

Sometimes you know something isn't right,
but despite your best efforts, you still don't have
the answers you are looking for.
You may have sought advice, tried different approaches,
or been told that you simply need to learn to live with the problem.
Over time, that can become frustrating, exhausting and disheartening.
What if there is more to the story?
By looking at how physical, emotional and mental wellbeing connect,
and the way the body and brain work together,
kinesiology may help uncover pieces of the puzzle
that can make sense of what you are experiencing.
The most important discovery may simply
be realising that things don't have to stay
the way they are.
How can Kinesiology help?
People come to De-Stress and be HAPPY for many different reasons. Some are looking for support with stress, anxiety or sleep. Others may be living with physical discomfort, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, finding life mentally exhausting, or simply recognising that something doesn't feel quite right.
Kinesiology is one of the ways we help people better understand what may be contributing to these challenges and supports your body's natural ability to move towards balance and wellbeing.
Every person is different, so every appointment is centred around what you would like to be different. Together, we'll explore what's happening for you, what may be contributing to it, and how kinesiology may be able to support you at this point in your life.
Why is
Kinesiology
different?

Our body and mind are constantly responding to what's happening within us and around us. Physical health, relationships, past experiences and the challenges of everyday life can all influence how we think, feel and respond, often without us even realising it.

Kinesiology explores these connections and aims to reduce the impact they may be having on your life, helping your body and mind move towards better balance.

Using gentle muscle monitoring, together with a range of supportive techniques, the aim is to help your body and mind move towards better balance.
Whatever has brought you here... People come to Kinesiology for many different reasons.
You don't need to have all the answers to take the first step.
You might be feeling overwhelmed, searching for answers, concerned
about your child, living with ongoing discomfort, or simply sensing that
something isn't quite right.

These are just some of the more common reasons people seek kinesiology.
Before becoming a kinesiologist, I worked in the corporate world. If someone had told me then that I'd one day be helping people through natural therapies, I would have laughed. It simply wasn't part of my life plan.

That changed when I became a mother.

Like many parents, I found myself searching for answers when my eldest child developed challenging behaviours at a very young age. Despite seeking help through the usual channels, I was left feeling that there were more questions than answers.
When I eventually discovered kinesiology, the changes I saw in my own children inspired me to learn everything I could—not to change careers, but simply to help my family.

What began out of necessity gradually became something much bigger.
For more than 27 years, I've had the privilege of working with children, adults and families, and I still feel incredibly grateful to do this work. Every person who walks through my door has their own story, and no two journeys are ever the same.

My own experiences taught me never to make assumptions. Instead, I believe in listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and working together to understand what may be contributing to the challenges you're experiencing.

Clients often tell me they finally feel understood. They appreciate having someone take the time to explain things, ask questions no one has asked before, and explore possibilities they may not have previously considered..

Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your partner, a family member or your child, my hope is simple: that you leave your first appointment feeling there is a genuine possibility that something can be different.
What to Expect
Appointment Information
While every person's journey is different, meaningful lasting change usually takes time, with each session building on the one before.

Each appointment begins with a conversation about what you've noticed since your previous appointment. The focus of each session is decided collaboratively, allowing your care to evolve as you do.

Around your fifth appointment, there is an opportunity to take a broader look at the changes you've noticed since beginning kinesiology. Together, you'll reflect on what has been achieved so far, revisit the outcomes that are important to you, and discuss the most appropriate way forward.

What is Kinesiology?
(Kin-esi-ology)
Kinesiology is a modern, non-invasive healing therapy that utilises muscle monitoring to evaluate the stress factors that are driving dysfunction in the body/mind system.

Working with the ancient Chinese healing system of meridians and acupressure points, Kinesiology can assess and treat imbalances between neurological and physiological function.

This resolves stress and can restore balance allowing the body’s own innate healing abilities to promote wellbeing at an emotional, physical, mental and spiritual level.

The real goal of any kinesiology ‘balance’ is to identify the bottom line cause of any imbalance and then resolve it. The imbalance may be nutritional, emotional, structural, psychological, energetic or even spiritual – something as simple as an ‘attitude’, or a forgotten memory.
The brain and body are connected by a sensory motor loop and are constantly interacting and affecting each other. If we are thinking HAPPY and POSITIVE thoughts the body will remain RELAXED and COMFORTABLE and we will be more able to LEARN and PERFORM at our optimal level.
If however, our thoughts are FEARFUL and NEGATIVE, the body will TIGHTEN, and become UNCOMFORTABLE. Learning and performance can then become inhibited.
Thus the main focus of Kinesiology through the use of muscle monitoring, is to REDUCE the STRESS held within the body/brain system.
NOTE: A lot of neurological dysfunction, and stresses to the body/mind system are held at a subconscious level, which means you may not be aware of what the actual stressors are. That is why being able to CONSULT with the body to identify what it thinks are it’s most stressful issues is so powerful, because it removes the guesswork and you can treat the real problem instead of just the symptoms.
